My first love.

Our mothers are like a security blanket to us because she saves us from all problems. She never regards her own problems and listens to us all time. In order to give her respect, second Sunday of May month has been dedicated for her to celebrate the mother’s day. This event is of great importance to us and our mothers. At this day we should keep our mothers happy and never make her sad. We should always obey her and do works properly. She always wants to make us a good human being in the life. A big programme is organized in our school every year on mother’s day to celebrate it conjointly. Our teachers help us in getting prepared for the mother’s day occasion. We learn lots of poem, rhyme, essay, speech, conversation, etc for the celebration of this occasion. We are really blessed by the God with a caring and loving mother. Without mothers our lives are nothing. We are so lucky as we have mother. We give lots of special gifts to our mother and she gives us lots of love and care. ...

Binatbatan Festival of the Arts celebrated from the last week of April to the first week of May was originally the Feast of the Natives that began on May 3, 1883, according to the writings of Damaso King, well-known Vigan historian. "Binatbatan” is the process of beating cotton pods to remove the seeds for Abel weaving. Which locals interpreted into an occupational dance with the use of two sticks called ”batbat”. Binabatan street dance is one of the main attractions during the week-long celebrations. The festival also showcases local art of mosaicking seeds called ”boklan”. Carabao painting, Kalesa parade, spoken poetry, Abel decors, and fashion show. Plus a fun shoot, capturing the Vigan experience.           This festival featured the binatbatan dance. This festival is a tribute to the Ilocanos of the Old. Binatbatan is an Ilocano dance that depicts the first step in the Abel Iloko we...

Vaccines save millions of lives each year. The development of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines are a crucial step in helping us get back to doing more of the things we enjoy with the people we love. Vaccines save millions of lives each year and a COVID-19 vaccine could save yours. The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective, providing strong protection against serious illness and death. WHO reports that unvaccinated people have at least 10 times higher risk of death from COVID-19 than someone who has been vaccinated.  is important to be vaccinated as soon as it’s your turn, even if you already had COVID-19. Getting vaccinated is a safer way for you to develop immunity from COVID-19 than getting infected. The COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective, but no vaccine provides 100 per cent protection. Some people will still get ill from COVID-19 after vaccination or pass the virus onto someone else.  Therefore, it is important to continue practicing safety precautions to...

BATAAN

There have been many wars throughout American history. There have been many wars  that America was in that involved Asian country. Like World War I, World War II, The Korean War, and the Vietnam War. There was one battle of World War II that changed the course of history and it happened right after the Attack on Pearl Harbor; that battle was known as the Invasion of the Philippines and after that event was the Bataan Death March. Some might not know how bad the Bataan Death March was because it wasn’t really discussed in books or talked during class. It was probably something that nobody talked about because it was considered a taboo.             When Kevin C. Murphy wrote “Inside the Bataan Death March: Defeat, Travail, and Memory,” the aftermath of what happens to the Japanese unfolds and becomes clear. Before looking at the text, Murphy indicated that the Bataan Death March was a defeat, a travail, and a mem...

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT WILL LEAD TO GENDER EQUALITY

Image
photo source:  MediumFemale Empowerment & Other Inspirational Bullshit. | by Ruks | Medium Women empowerment is the process of giving women the ability to live a happy and respected life in society. Women are empowered when they have unrestricted access to chances in a range of domains, such as education, profession, and lifestyle, among others. It involves things like education, awareness, literacy, and training to help them improve their position. It also involves decision-making authority. A woman feels powerful when she takes a significant decision. Empowering women is the most important factor in a country's overall growth. If a household has just one earning member, while another family has both men and women earning, who will have a better standard of living? A country where men and women work together grows more quickly. A woman is denied the right to raise her opinions even in her household matters, political or financial viewpoints are far behind. Women are...

Once A Year We Get An Opportunity To Re-Evaluate Our Lives.

photo source:  https://hallow.com/lent/           People often don’t look forward to Lent. Childhood memories of giving up candy or sitting through weekly Stations of the Cross come immediately to mind. Words like “sacrifice,” “discipline,” and “self-denial” are often used in ways that suggest that Lent is something to be endured rather than a time of grace and spiritual growth.           In my family, they encourage me and my cousins to vow to a specific task during lent. They want me and my cousins to use this season as an opportunity to make others happy and to show love to everyone we can. Last year, my vow for the first twenty days of lent, was to try to face the hard obstacles in life and cheer everyone who is feeling down. Making others happy, can help spread happiness and gratefulness and impact others’ lives more than you think. My cousins ha...

Ilocanos' Pride: Kannawidan

Image
Ilocanos ,  Ilokanos , or  Iloko  people celebrates onne of the famous festivals in Ilocos Sur: Kannawidan.  A festival in the Province of Ilocos Sur commemorating the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818 .    It celebrates Ilocos Sur’s abundant culture and traditions, and its separation from Ilocos Norte. I'm really not a fan of festivals but I love this festival even though i am not an Ilocano, why? Because for me, Kannawidan is the best festival here in Ilocos. A showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes. But because of the pandemic, limited people to enter and limited activities and shows to do and watch but that is for everyone's safety.  I think all people not only the Ilocanos but other ethnicity too should experience Kannawidan festival. To try the foods or buy local products, to watch for a smile. I'm sure everyone will love and enjoy it!
