Ilocanos' Pride: Kannawidan
Ilocanos, Ilokanos, or Iloko people celebrates onne of the famous festivals in Ilocos Sur: Kannawidan. A festival in the Province of Ilocos Sur commemorating the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818. It celebrates Ilocos Sur’s abundant culture and traditions, and its separation from Ilocos Norte.
I'm really not a fan of festivals but I love this festival even though i am not an Ilocano, why? Because for me, Kannawidan is the best festival here in Ilocos. A showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes. But because of the pandemic, limited people to enter and limited activities and shows to do and watch but that is for everyone's safety.
I think all people not only the Ilocanos but other ethnicity too should experience Kannawidan festival. To try the foods or buy local products, to watch for a smile. I'm sure everyone will love and enjoy it!
I agree, even though some are not into attending festivals it’s not bad to give it a try sometimes in order to experience something new. Kannawidan is one of the most worth watching activities they have in Ilocos Sur.
